Do you want to share your PSP-related fan art? Send us an e-mail. A new piece of fan art will be shared every Friday.

The Incredible Hulk is coming to PSP next year, but that doesn't mean we have to wait until then to see more of the green guy. Some would argue that in the above fan art by Scarlet-Dawn, we see a bit too much of him. The angular lines compliment Hulk as a subject, and we can't help but love the fear in the dog's eyes. It also seems appropriate for Hulk to show off his angry physique on the beach. He certainly would get more tail as the Hulk, than as Bruce Banner. If you dig this fan art as much as we do, check out Scarlet-Dawn's deviantART page to peruse her other fan art. That, or you can let Scarlet-Dawn know what you think of the art in our comments section.

When SEGA Rally Revo was first announced, we weren't given a whole lot of info. Luckily for SEGA Rally fans, IGN has gotten more details on the off-road racer. Here is what PSP gamers can expect when they pop the UMD into their PlayStation Portable:

34 different cars

16 tracks

6 different environments

Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure multiplayer

Game Sharing

This handheld edition of SEGA Rally Revo isn't a port, but rather was uniquely made for the PSP by Bugbear Entertainment (Flatout). It certainly breeds confidence in the title, when you know the developer has had experience with off-road racing before.

New Sega Rally Revo details originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 16 Aug 2007 23:30:00 EST.
EB Games has a listing for Heroes of the Pacific on PSP. While the game's official site hasn't been updated to reflect this, it seems likely this listing isn't a mistake. After all, Heroes of the Pacific already came out on PS2, so it should be a relatively easy port (assuming it's a port and not a new entry). For those that don't remember when Heroes first came out, it received much critical praise and was heralded for its impressive dog fights. The game is listed as a 2008 release, so it may be a while before we find out more info on Heroes of the Pacific.

Heroes of the Pacific flying to PSP originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 16 Aug 2007 02:00:00 EST. We also didn't know who was developing it. The PSP edition is being worked on by Amaze Entertainment (Shrek the Third, Eragon). Movie tie-ins (like the previous titles developed by Amaze) usually suck harder than a wet/dry vac on max, but the last Hulk game was good, and we're hoping that trait follows Hulk to his latest outing. We'll find out for sure when The Incredible Hulk smashes into stores June 2008.

Every week, PSP Fanboy gives you the release list of what's coming out for the PSP worldwide. If a game is listed as coming out in a different country from where you live, don't worry. Your PSP can play games from any region. This week you could visit dank dungeons, make a touchdown, or hang out with cute girls. We'll leave it to you to decide whether you do it in real life, or in the following games.

Wipeout Pulse is looking quite good. For those fans that are having a difficult time waiting for the game's release, perhaps this amazing fan art will help. Pigou obviously drew this image as an attempt to display what it would be like to pilot a Wipeout racer. The way the dashboard lights reflect off the windows is a really impressive effect. The piece also shows off the competitive nature of the game, by showing another racer on the side attempting to pass ahead. Also, while sunsets in art are a bit overdone, we can't help but love how it works with this piece. A petition has surfaced on the net, with the goal of pressuring Capcom into making a Resident Evil game for the PSP. The petition reads "We, PSP ( Playstation Portable ) owners would like Capcom to release to our beloved handheld game console at least one of the games from there famous survivor/horror franchise : Resident Evil .
We are also aware of the fact, that there is already a PSP version of the first Resident Evil game on the PSN ( Playstation Network ) but because of the lack of PS3 systems we cannot purchase this game .
Seeing the history of Resident Evil games on Playstation consoles, we can guarantee you, that the game will be a success ."

Personally, we'd like to see Capcom make an original Resident Evil entry for the PSP. Then again, when it comes down to it, we love the series enough to be happy with whatever we get (as long as it's not a Gun Survivor title).

[Thanks Joe!]
Resident Evil fans start petition for series to hit PSP originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 09 Aug 2007 07:00:00 EST.
insertcredit found something interesting while checking out Climax's main website. Their site's picture map uses graphics that look an awful lot like an updated version of their famous title Landstalker. This of course leads them (and us as well) to wonder if this is a sign that they're still working on a PSP Landstalker. The game's website is still live, but it hasn't been updated in almost two years. Then again, Climax hasn't been doing a whole heck of a lot lately either way.

Is there still a chance for Landstalker PSP? originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 08 Aug 2007 00:30:00 EST.
Every week, PSP Fanboy gives you the release list of what's coming out for the PSP worldwide. If a game is listed as coming out in a different country from where you live, don't worry. Your PSP can play games from any region. The UK gets left empty handed, and Japan gets lots of map software this week. Still, there are a few games worth checking out.

Remember, you can save these images directly to your PSP by accessing the site wireless at m.pspfanboy.com. We're almost out of background requests, so if there's a background you'd like to see, request it. This week is a movie themed background explosion.
Earlier this week we explained Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl. Being the cult hit that it is though, I doubt you'd have to explain the game to the Harvest Moon faithful. Yuina surely knows all about Harvest Moon since she made this dead on fan art. This piece covers the key features of the franchise in one image. You have farm animals, crops and love. The coloring of the art is airy and subdued and certainly fits the feel of Harvest Moon. If you enjoy this fan art as much as we do, check out Yuina's deviantART page to see her other work.
PSP owners jealous that they never got Phoenix Wright, may not have to be jealous anymore. The above video of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law seems to show a title that may be every bit as fun as Mr. Wright's courtroom antics. Our favorite part was watching Guile from Street Fighter fame lose his famous hairdo. It makes us hope that other familiar gaming stars will appear in court.

So which of our readers are ready to face judge and jury with Birdman?

Harvey Birdman court room footage originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 31 Jul 2007 23:30:00 EST. During a recent EA share holder meeting, EA let slip that they are currently working on Godfather 2. Frank Gibeau of EA Games said "The appeal of those types of games is growing as the demographics start to open up for that older demographic. We make products like Godfather 2, Army of Two, Crysis- a lot of products that appeal to that older customer". No platforms were listed for the Godfather's return, but given EA's tendency to go multi-platform in a big way with most of their titles, it's likely Godfather 2 would end up on PSP. The question is, do PSP gamers care? Did you like the original Godfather? What would you like to see improved in Godfather 2?

[Via Gamasutra]
Godfather II on the way originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 30 Jul 2007 23:00:00 EST. First there was LEGO Star Wars, and it drew acclaim for being a licensed game from the light side. Then LEGO Batman was announced, and LEGO fans got a smile on their face bigger than the Joker's. Now LEGO game fans can look forward to LEGO Indiana Jones. The teaser above certainly showcases the charms of Indiana Jones, while keeping the silly demeanor of the previous LEGO games. Our favorite part of the trailer had to be Indy's varying stubble. That's one gritty LEGO man.

LEGO Indiana Jones hits stores next summer.
Every week, PSP Fanboy gives you the release list of what's coming out for the PSP worldwide. If a game is listed as coming out in a different country from where you live, don't worry. Your PSP can play games from any region. Looks like it's a good week for casual games and RPGs. This week's Asian games consist mostly of greatest hits re-releases, but there are still a few new gems in the pile.

With a Metal Gear Solid 2 graphic novel coming to PSP, it seemed appropriate to feature MGS2's hero in fan art form. It's good to see some original Raiden fan art, since there is likely to be many Johnny come lately Raiden fans after MGS4 is released. This work was done by Imson, and very nicely displays Raiden's profeciency with a blade. If only Kojima would have made it so you got the sword earlier in the game, it was a blast to play with. Imson also keeps the hexagonal background theme that is so familiar to the Metal Gear series. Finally, it's great to see the sword trail, and dust kick up. Ed knew that some gamers (and even some staff members) would find a girl's name as company moniker a bit silly, but he wanted to have a drastic re-branding. A name that would have gamers sit up and take notice. The decision to use the image of a real model as the company icon was done because Zoe Mode wanted to emphasize that they were real, and their games were for real people. How did the female embodiment influence their game creating decisions? "We make games for Zoe and her family. Zoe is our conscience that signs off on what we do. We ask 'What would Zoe do? and 'Would Zoe like that?' kind of questions. It does help have a reference point, even if she's imaginary" claims Ed.

We don't mean to judge, but maybe Ed and his team are as crazy as the world they created in Crush.

The results were fairly interesting, especially when the issue of homebrew came up. IGN user carterman asked "Why not have some homebrew game support?" To which Jack Tretton replied, "I think that is something that is in the works. We certainly see some of the stuff that has been done via homebrew, and it's incredibly creative. And I think we'd like to try and tap into that a little bit more." Dave Karraker added to Jack's answer by stating that Sony is trying to figure out how to support homebrew without putting the PSP in danger. Does this mean that Sony is working on their own PSP answer to XNA? Sounds like it could be.

Ubisoft is developing a game based on the upcoming Robert Zemeckis film adaptation of Beowulf. Not much has been revealed about this Ubi title, but while browsing EB Games website, we noticed a listing for a PSP version of the game. The listing could just be a mistake on EB's part (they do have incorrect listings from time to time), but it's more likely a sign that the demon killer is hitting Sony's portable.

For those that don't know the story of Beowulf, it involves a warrior slaying the mighty demon Grendel. After doing so though, he incurs the wrath of the Grendel's mother in a battle that will turn him into a legend. Demon slaying and games are old drinking buddies, so Beowulf may stand a chance of being a movie tie-in worth playing.

Beowulf coming to PSP? originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 23 Jul 2007 10:00:00 EST.
Every week, PSP Fanboy gives you the release list of what's coming out for the PSP worldwide. If a game is listed as coming out in a different country from where you live, don't worry. Your PSP can play games from any region. Looks like the US and EU regions have a slow week, though I'm sure plenty of PSP owners will be picking up Final Fantasy II. In Japan there is a good variety this week. From apes to gangsters, a lot of different interests will meet.

Pentavision gained fans worldwide with their DJ Max Portable series, but Ruliweb is reporting that their latest game is quite a departure. S4 Portable is a third person shooter. S4 stands for Stylish eSper Shooting Sports, though something tells me Pentavision's definition of sports will be loose. The action title will have guest appearances from DJ Max Portable characters and feature music from some of the DJ Max composers. Fans of Pentavision should be happy to know that they plan on releasing S4 Portable worldwide.

The entire point of our Fan Art series, is to share some of the best gaming inspired works with our readers. Games with striking visuals, tend to make great fodder for fan art. It is because of this fact, that it's unsurprising to see Killzone fan art. This art looks like it was down with colored chalk on gray paper. It was created by the artist known as Kazuya. The fact that this image was done in chalk with dark tones really fits with the Killzone theme. All and all, it makes for a really powerful image. If you enjoy this fan art as much as we do, check out Kazuya's deviantART page to see his other fan art. That, or you can let Kazuya know what you think of the art in our comments section.

We can't wait to get our hands on the upcoming PSP version of Disgaea. We're so excited, that we constantly scour the Internet landscape for new info. While we're jealous that PS3 is exclusively getting Disgaea 3, we do have some new Disgaea PSP info to help comfort us. The official title for the upcoming port seems to be Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. For those that don't recall, the original PS2 version was called Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Last time I checked, an afternoon consists of more than an hour. The subtitle change likely refers to the expanded and new content that is in the PSP edition. The only bad news is that EB Games currently has the release date in October, not August like originally expected.
Disgaea for PSP gets new subtitle originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 20 Jul 2007 00:00:00 EST. The objective of the game should be obvious enough, you compete in ten athletic events and go for the gold.

Decathletes has a career mode with custom character options, but just like the real thing, Decathletes is all about human competition. For this reason, multiplayer will be a big focus on the title. Four players will be able to compete against each other in the sweat inducing competition. There's no word if lots of button mashing will be involved, but it'd probably be smart to start working out those thumbs now in preparation.

Decathletes is currently scheduled for a spring 2008 release.

Patapon looks very early from the above video, but what's already there is certainly smile worthy. The visuals look like an animation that you'd see at an indie festival. It's obvious that music will play a big role in the title as well, even though it has yet to be scored. From the video it's very unclear how the game plays, but even with the little we do know about Patapon, we already want to play it.

[Thanks Krelian!]
LocoRoco fans may fall in love with Patapon originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 17 Jul 2007 11:00:00 EST. The blog post does a good job of not just showing what the new PSP version has for specs, but also what the original was equipped with (in case you forgot).

It's certainly interesting to see diagrams of how the new PSP will hook up to your TV, and where exactly those component cables will plug into. The post also shows off parts of the manual that explain the USB charging feature, the expanded main memory, how it will use a new remote, and exactly where the WLAN switch was moved to. It's all great info, but as a PSP fan it's always difficult to see a PSP ripped open.

[Thanks Don!]

A look at the redesigned PSP's insides & manual originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 16 Jul 2007 21:45:00 EST.
Every week, PSP Fanboy gives you the release list of what's coming out for the PSP worldwide. If a game is listed as coming out in a different country from where you live, don't worry. Your PSP can play games from any region. This seems like a decent week for PSP games. There is a good variety too, from puzzle to sports, music to fighting.

Much like Sony is phasing out the 60 Gig PS3, so too will go the original PSP. Sony PR, Patrick Seybold had this to say: "The newly designed PSP wil replace the original PSP design starting in September with the $169.99 PSP Core Pack and the $199.99 Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack." So if for some reason you like your handhelds with more bulk and less capabilities, quickly go out, and buy the original PSP while supplies last.

Final Fantasy Tactics box art looks gorgeous. It's so inspiring, that we couldn't possibly put up a Final Fantasy Tactics fan art that didn't measure up. Luckily, this week's fan art by Gemiange certainly does. In case the intro didn't clue you in, this piece depicts characters from Final Fantasy Tactics. It showcases both Ramza and Delita, looking quite upset. It looks good enough, that I wouldn't mind seeing this sort of art in the upcoming remake. Great use of lighting and skyline help seal the feeling. If you enjoy this fan art as much as we do, check out Gemiange's deviantART page to see her other fan art. That, or you can let Gemiange know what you think of the art in our comments section.

We're not sure exactly what the title Echochrome means, but after the game is released, it may mean inventive puzzle gameplay. Combining M.C. Escheresque art with Crush-like gameplay, Echochrome should appeal to gamers looking for puzzle games that don't just involve falling blocks. The music in the above trailer really fits well with the game (let's hope that is actual in-game music) and gives it a moody tone. While the graphics are simple, they're unique and actually seem to add to the game. The only thing more twisted than the puzzles in Echochrome, will be your brain after playing it.

Echochrome is coming to multiple Sony systems. PS3 owners will get it in downloadable form, but PSP owners will snatch this puzzler on UMD.
Echochrome: It's like being stuck in M.C. The PSP edition will be called Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed. It's not being developed by Pandemic, but instead Locomotive Games (Cars PSP) is handling the reigns. You'll once again take control of Crypto as he tries to destroy the 1970s by UFO or on foot. THQ's marketing man had this to say:

"The Destroy All Humans! franchise has consistently delivered a unique combination of fun and original gameplay delivering irreverent humor and over the top destruction that has garnered worldwide acclaim and commercial success".
With E3 coming up this week, developers are already starting to showcase their work. Such is the case with SWAT: Target Liberty, as you can see above. In a lot of ways, the trailer looks like an awful lot like Killzone: Liberation, only with a heavier emphasis on squad tactics. That's fine with us though, since Killzone: Liberation is still one of the best PSP games out there. The perspective also allows you to see what's going on up ahead, and easily plan your next move. Every week, PSP Fanboy gives you the release list of what's coming out for the PSP worldwide. If a game is listed as coming out in a different country from where you live, don't worry. Your PSP can play games from any region. While most of the gaming world pays attention to the new E3, a few brave companies have decided to still release games this week. It's not a huge list, but there are a few promising titles coming out.
Such is the case with Namco Bandai. On the PSP front, we can look forward to seeing the fan favorite RPG Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, the tennis champ Smash Court Tennis 3, and of course the knuckle headed ninja in Naruto: Ultimate Heroes. There may of course be a few surprises, or behind closed doors presentations, but those three games are certainly heavy hitters. Which of these titles are you most looking forward to seeing more on at E3?

[Via Gamespot]

Namco Bandai announces E3 PSP lineup originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 06 Jul 2007 01:30:00 EST. Rockstar has taken time to thank the concerned fans, who e-mailed them about Manhunt 2 being halted from release. "We wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to contact us about Manhunt 2, which we had been planning to release on PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo Wii." Rockstar's response continued, "As you know, Manhunt 2 was effectively banned around much of the world, after it was refused certification in the United Kingdom, prohibited in Ireland, and denied an M rating in the United States."

"We are very proud of Manhunt 2 and believe it builds on what the team accomplished with the first title in the series. The game was developed as a horror experience, and to be an M rated title, aligning it with similar horror content created in other forms of media. Unlike many other people, we do no think videogames should be singled out for special treatment from authorities. We hope to have more information for you soon, but in the meantime, we wanted you to know how much we value all of your messages of support."

We couldn't agree more, all forms of entertainment should be held to the same standards. Let's hope it isn't long until that ideal becomes a reality.

[Via Games Radar]
Rockstar thanks supporters originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 03 Jul 2007 11:30:00 EST.
